My Roles: 3D Modeler, Lighting Artist, Environment Set Dressing
This project began as a 3D exploration of Soniya Lin's character but we fell in love with the atmosphere of it, that we decided to complete the entire corner, filling it to the brim with spices, food, and life. Once we had finished with our concept art and ideas, I began producing mid-poly models for the scene. I quite enjoy UV unwrapping, so I did so to all of our models in preparation for surfacing. The coolest part of this piece in my opinion is the illusion of the stained glass window projected onto the floor. It's a level of detail I did not realize was achievable at such a small scale.
Here was what we decided on for our final composition, testing what elements might go where to make this kitchen feel lived in.
All of our modeled assets laid out in scale to one another, once we had all of our surfaces ready.
